Thanks for the additions, Crystal. Just updated the list.

I've got a lot of catching up to do, myself. Every time I checked one of these links I had to stop myself from spending a few hours going through the whole site.

I gather M is an adult story? I know there was a bit of a kafuffle about ratings a while back and some sites changed them. Can anyone explain the new ratings that are being used?

Ah thank you for supplying the link. But, good grief who makes this stuff up? Its convoluted gibberish! I cant be doing with all that nonsense on my fiction - either its suitable for minors or it isnt Shocked

But at least I might be able to figure the categories out if I visit certain archives now

I gotta say I always liked the way you divided stories into "Adult" and "General", Dark Star. I can never figure out the ratings systems either.

Pleasure! Yeah, it is a load of hogwash, I don't get the gist of it either. They should rather consider using age as a restriction like they do in movies. A Bit Shifty

are you saying the story is gibberish or the rating system?

If you're talking about the rating system, I agree. I prefer to call stories that contain sex NC-17 because that's a clear line. M, not so much. Either stories are suitable for teens or they aren't.

Honestly though, I've made some delightful friends on LJ and in fandom who are teens and surprisingly mature. I am always shocked though when I think of them in terms of teen family members who I would not want reading that stuff.

You know, when that "kafuffle" went down, I basically left fanfiction.net and didn't look back. I couldn't live without my porn (there's that creepy old man voice again). Glad to know they've loosened up since then. I'm eager to check out all of the stories I've missed.

I used to go to adultfanfiction.net for some of my other fandoms, but the B/A selection there isn't as good as, say, Scribes of Angel.

Huh, I didn't know that site existed. I'd add it to the list, but you're right, not much of a B/A collection there.

I think ff.net still has a lot of merit. For one thing, it's the ideal place for a new writer to start out. Worked for me, anyway.

Sorry Crystal, I missed this response. I meant the rating system was gibberish. People want to know whether the story is suitable for them to read, not have to work out some bizarre rating system. Why cant they just say what age the story is aimed at?

That's because b/a writers were or are still having their stories bashed by other supporters on that site.

Ff.net seems to be the best. Smile

So...what is this forum for? If everyone goes to FIRST join and create an account on LJ to even join Joyous Rebellion? I avoid "social networks" and all the problems with them and I am finding B/A seems to require an endless stream of chasing down more sites stemming off of other sites that requires more joining to join than any other. While, I do hope you all have a great time, I am getting discouraged to ever find a home... Crying or Very sad Embarassed

It's really all up to you. If you're getting enough B/A out of these forums alone, great, but I like everyone to have the option to expand. Some of us already hang out on LiveJournal a lot, so it made sense to have a few B/A communities there to scratch the itch.

Lots of people who post here don't have an LJ account, and vice versa. I don't think there's ever a real need to look for more fandom content unless you want it, but some do, so it's out there.
